Dear Traveler,
Let’s be introduced. I’m a fifth-generation Alaskan from Bristol Bay raised by fishermen, pilots, and a gorgeous, noisy librarian. My heart carries tundra, sea, and a good story wherever I go astray. But when I’m not exploring or harvesting sockeye with my family I stay and play in South Central Alaska where wild salmon, mountains, and Irish coffee fuel my winter’s writing. Please keep your head and arms inside the fish truck, and thank you for joining the adventure!
AK gone Astray chronicles my foreign travel* adventures. The travel bug got me good after university and I take every chance I get to explore somewhere new.
AK here to Play serves travelers with a yen to visit to the Last Frontier. Whether you’re searching for an Alaska packing list, ideal itinerary, hike report or restaurant recommendation I’ve got you.
AK home to Stay peeks into the Alaska lifestyle from the perspective of a fifth-gen bushrat. You’ll get fish stories, recipes, and lots of Alaska love.
*For the purposes of this blog I define foreign travel as anywhere outside Alaska. Given that we have to traverse Canada to visit the contiguous 48 states it follows that even the rest of the U.S. feels like another country.
